    Default Child Support Arrears

My question involves child support in the State of: Texas
I was paying my ex child support directly for the past year and a half unknowing I was supposed to pay directly to the AG's office. I come to find out I have a $2300 balance that I have to pay. Me and her aren't on the best terms so I had the AG's office send her an affidavit of direct payment. She says she filled it out, notarized it, and mailed it off. They claim they haven't processed it yet so I'm stuck wondering if they don't get it what can I do to fix this issue? I paid her well over $2300 directly. I do know now that my court order says any direct payments will be considered as a gift. I had no idea it said that till after the fact. Do I hope for a sympathetic judge? Any ideas?

Hope and pray that your ex is honest, and the AG's office does what they are supposed to do.
In the mean time, use this as a good lesson, ALWAYS read every word in any court order, this way these kinds of mistakes won't happen.
