Default Application of Prop 36 in California

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

I recently was caught for possession of marijuana in California and am planning on pleading guilty at my court date a couple months away. I was wondering what your opinions are regarding whether or not to just pay the fine ($100 max) and possibly do community service or to participate in the program stipulated by Prop 36.

I am currently a college student with no prior run-ins with the law. Thanks for your help!

    Prop 36 no longer exists....

The voters decided not to renew it last election.

    Well ... not exactly ....

While Prop 5 failed to expand the programs (thank GOD!!), the programs established by Prop 36 and covered under PC 1000 still exist, it is simply that their funding may be in doubt.
