My question involves traffic court in the State of: North Carolina
My atttorney is out of town which is why I am posting this.
Around novemeber I received a VERY questionable reckless driving ticket. Long story short a "road raging" officer in is personal vehicle chased me down, and drew his weapon on me at a stop light. All from his personal vehicle. All becasue I "cut him off". I as then issued a reckless ticket when another officer arrived.
But thats not the point of this thread.
I hired an attorney.
Said attormey said case shiould easily be dismissed.
Called a few days after the court date and spoke with his assistant, she said that yes, it as dismissed but, the officer had not "turned the ticket in". This may be becasue he forgot, maybe he hadnt gotten to it, maybe it was out of spite.
She mentioned the possibillity of it "coming back up" becasue of this, but that they would handle it.
Until today I hadnt thought much about it, but still have received no "offical" letter form my attorney.
Today i got an advertisement in the mail for a local law firm. This got me thinking to check on my ticket. My attorney's office is closed, so i checked the court docket online.
Sure enough I am sceduled to appear in january on the SAME charge.
How is this possible?
