My question involves criminal law for the state of:Minnesota
Okay, so here I am, second to last day of summer. I was, and still am 16. I was driving with a friend, and we were smoking a bowl, as well. Multitasking. And I guess I had a burnt out headlight, so we were pulled over, and the cop smelt the weed, and we were asked to step out of the car, and he searched it, and found less than 2 grams of really good bud, a bowl, and, in the trunk he found four still closed beers, and a large bag of shitty ditch weed. He asked what the big bag was because it didn't smell/look/feel like pot, so I said we were playing a prank on a friend, and it was just spice, and he dumped it out on the ground. I was charged with Possession of a Small Amount and Paraphinalia. I have a previously clean record. I was given a court date for the 23rd of October, and when I showed up, they said the lady at the front desk said the ticket was written up incorrectly, and needs to be expunged and re-written, because it was saying that I should be charged as an adult. It was expunged, and I got a letter today saying that I have a new court date on Jan. 22, and I am wondering what the outcome will be. I will be charged in the Anoka County Courthouse.
