My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia
Hello, please help me with my question. I pled guilty to a shoplifting charge in 2001. It was petty theft (under $10) and a first offense, however, they still made it a felony. I hired a lawyer later and she had it Pardoned.
Many employers dont accept pardons and prefer expungement of a charge. Under Georgia law, can I pursue expungement of my shoplifting charge? I paid the fine, did community service, and of course am not under parole and I certainly have not commited any other crime since then (unless a speeding ticket counts).
How can I expedite this and is it possible?![]()
