My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: California (City of San Francisco)
I got a parking ticket on 10/24 while working (driving). I was stopped in a bus stop dropping someone off and after she got out, i put the car in park to write down the time and check where I had to be next. In that 15 seconds a cop stopped behind me and started writing me a ticket for being stopped in the bus stop. It was 11:40pm and the ticket is $250. I already planned on contesting it since I was working and I could play the sympathy aspect working about 30 hours a week and going to school (also, the reason I was in the bus stop was because it's a 1 lane each way street and double parking would've completely blocked traffic and the bus zone is a blocked off part of the parking lane).Anyway, I just realized an error on the ticket I received in the mail. The ticket says I was ticketed at 11:40am (really got the ticket 12 hours later). I was in class that day until 12pm. Do you think this could be a good enough reason to argue the ticket, or should I stick with what happened? I'm going to bring in the letter of contest on Monday the 7th so I hope this is seen soon. Thanks in advance.
