    Default Disciplinary Wage Cut

    A friend at work has just been demoted and given a first and final warning for entering the premises alone which is against company policy.
    What I would like to know is, is this not a double punishment?? They have also cut his wage by £5500 are they allowed to do this in 1 fell swoop or should he be given time to adjust to such a large decrease? also is he allowed to appeal against the amount of deduction
    Any advice at all would be great

    Default Double Punishment

    They can fashion whatever punishment they deem appropriate. If he doesn't like it, he can quit. It's hard, but then, they could have fired him.
