My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Michigan
I am in a program called SIL (Supervised Independent Living). I am currently sixteen years old. In SIL I receive about 500 dollars a month in which I then pay a care provider 300 for rent.
Once this school year over over I wish to move out into my own place. I will be 17 and a half. I am a ward of the court and my worker doesnt want me to do that. She said they will cut off my money. I really dont care about the money. My Aunt owns a house and said I can move in for 400 dollars a month which I know I can afford.
I will still be attending school, have my own place, and a job. If they find out where I am can they put me into a foster care, residential, juvenile, or will they just emancipate me from the system. By the time they find out where I am I will be almost 18 in which then I will be at the age of majority anyways. Will they even waste their time?
