My question involves expungements or pardons for the state of wisconsin.
yesterday i was working at my job at Best Buy.
Today, not so much.
Recently i have fought with temptations of taking things.
3 weeks ago i stole an iphone from best buy, and was not found out.
Yesterday i concealed an iPod in my coat, which they say was witnessed, and then put my coat in the break room where it belonged.
At the end of my shift, i took my coat into the bathroom, and unpackaged the ipod, putting it in my shoe. as soon as i left a toilet stall, one of the store managers was staring me down in the bathroom. I washed my hands, and he asked if i could look at something in the loss prevention office.
Once there, he asked if i had an iPod that i was trying to steal.
I said yes, and removed it.
some discussion took place, and i was asked if i knew of anyone else taking things recently. I admitted to taking the iPhone as well.
once an officer came, i was given a charge of retail theft. them telling the officer regarding the iPhone (first incident) he said that me bringing it to best buy would be an "outside contract" and he couldnt charge me for that, but best buy could agree to terms with me or go to civil court.
I have since returned the iphone to the store, and made amends with the store, though i still have this theft charge pending.
i have a court date for january 7th.
Im 19, have nothing else on my record, the value was $270 for what i was cited by the officer.
how should i handle this? pay the fine and move on? get legal help?
This is the true facts of it, though i've heard that a way out can be to have a lawyer help "manipulate" the information of this.
