My question involves court procedures for the state of: Florida
I have been in a lawsuit for a commercial lease that was defaulted on by new owners of the business. This business was sold 4 times before it was closed. I was in the intial ownership group. All groups were sued by the landlord. Our group had a 2year limitation in the guaranty which the plantiff questioned.
My business partner settled of court according to the plantiffs attorney. Myself and 2 other groups were petitioned for a partial summary judgement. At this hearing the judge told the plantiff's attorney he would not go after the initial guarantors.....which was me......at this time.
About two weeks later I received a copy of a judgement against one of the defendents that were in the partial summary judgement. It also said that this judgement did not release me from any future attempts for judgement by the plantiff.
Just recently I received a copy of a hearng for judgement against the final group that actually defaulted on the lease.
Now, with al that said.......how long do the plaintiff's have until they should release me or take action. Is their anything I can do to get released? I would like to finalize this whole issue.
