My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Texas. I pulled out of the subdivision where I live and into a school zone. The normal speed limit is 35 MPH and 20 MPH in the active school zone. The only warning that you are entering a school zone is on the main street about 200-300 ft before the subdivision entrance to the main street. I recieved a ticket for doing 30 MPH in a 20 MPH school zone, but I had no idea the school zone was active as there are no signs on or after the street in the subdivision. Under the law is this a defense or should I try to take defensive driving?
