    Default Statute of Limitations

My question involves divorce in the State of: ab,canada

I was seperated in 2001, finalized the divorce in 2004 (remarried 2005) and in 2000 my ex signed a promisary note because I paid his gambling debts adding it to the mortgage and at that time I had land titles put the property and mortgage in my name alone. In 2001 he signed his dower rights. When our divorce was finalized it left financial pending because he just kept fighting and I wanted to be divorced..now I have been served with disclosure papers and he states he wants a portion of the home, pension rrsp's etc. I have been told that even though a dower release form was signed he had matrimonial rights..but doesn't that lapse after so long? He has since bought a house, boat etc..if he wants to go to discovery doesn't that get thrown in the mix now?
