Question Uncashed $3000 Check from 2003

    Interesting event happened today.

My old bank calls me and says that I had a cashier's check that never was cashed. The amount was for over $3,000. Date of check was May of 2003. I thought the place that I had issued the check to had gone out of business, so I was that much richer. So I stop by the bank and get a check written to me for the amount... and then I do a little more investigating.. the business was in fact still around. SHOOT. I feel obligated to be truthful and give them a call. They were surprised to say the least. Now they are calling their bank and trying to find out why it wasn't cashed. They are suppose to get back to me soon. What do you all think???

Before cashing the check you received, I would wait & see what the business says when they get back to you.
