Georgia...

I received a letter from SS stating they needed to discuss something with me. It has to do with an overpayment, or so I am assuming.

Prior to going back to work, I notified SS. I told them where I was working. I was asked if they could keep in contact with my employer regarding my status of employment. I gave them permission to do so. After nine months, I was still receiving benefits, and did contact SS to tell them I was past the nine month trial period. The benefits continued, even with phone calls.

I have called SS regarding the letter that was sent to me, and found, they had my old address and a bad zip code. How I received the letter I did, I don't know because even the address on the letter was wrong...wasn't even my old address (street name and number were correct but the apartment number was incorrect). I asked that someone please call me and I have yet to hear from anyone. I not only gave them my home number, but also my cell number.

I can't afford to pay back. They had permission to contact my employer at any time as I had been asked if they could and I said yes. I contacted them after the nine month trial period yet they still continued to pay.

Please, any help or information as to what I can do is greatly appreciated.
