My brother worked at a apartment complex in Indiana. He was the leasing agent. He answered the ad for apartments that was on his cell phone. The property manager and co-owner told him not to rent to black people. They told them if they called give them wrong directions and if they showed up, jack up the price on them, or tell them it's rented. So, my brother had a tape recorder and taped the manager saying that they don't want black people to be rented to on their properties. He told them that he can't do that, and he will rent to everybody that comes in or calls. They told him well then you have to leave and then he turned over the keys and left. During his working time, he didn't have any lunch breaks and did that for 2 months in a row. After they fired him, he has hard time sleeping, he feels humiliated, stress, and working in that hostile environment. He was made fun of his religion, which he is from Europe. How can he settle with the owners, before he hires a lawyer and or he turns over the tapes to the media? Can he legally do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
