My question involves an eviction in the state of: California
A tenant with whom we reached a settlement to get out, is asking us for a reference.
We attempted to evict him but because of horrible council, and his competent council, we ended up settling for a good bit of money. The record was sealed so no eviction will appear on his record.
There is nothing in our agreement that states we are to give a good reference, that would be lying. What are we allowed to say by law should anyone call asking about him?
He and his wife are fraudsters (look to tie people up in litigation and settle). Their noisy, inconsiderate people. We received a ton of complaints about their behaviour and when we called their attention to the terms of their lease the were verbally abusive and tried to incite us to hit them.
Any feedback? Thanks.
