My question involves medical malpractice in the province of: Ontario
My mother visited this family doctor regarding her colon. The doctor checked it out and just said it was hemorrhoids and did not refer her to any specialized doctors for a colonoscopy. After putting it off for a year, thinking it was not urgent she finally had a colonoscopy and the specialists found a tumor the size of a grapefruit. They extracted 98% of it, it is currently undetermined if the tumor is benign or cancerous, but if the tumor is cancerous according to the doctor, if my mother waited any longer, she would have been dead in a couple years.
Also my sister went to the same family doctor twice regarding bladder problems, both times the doctor refused to give her any referrals to a specialist. She later went into a walk in clinic where they referred her to a specialist and found out she had a structural problem.
My question is does this constitute for malpractice, I believe my family was not the first to suffer as a result of this doctor's negligence.
