SSDI, Marriage, and Residency in Philippines

Hello,

My name is Tony, I am 26 yrs old and living on Social Security Disability Income. I am wanting to live in the Philippines and to marry. I have been to the Philippines before and enjoyed the accessibility of being able to live in a nice and convenient location for groceries and shopping..

In order for me to plan this and have it run smoothly. Where would I need to start? Would I need to start with the immigrant visa to reside in the Philippines, then marry, and contact SSA? What would be the best approach? Also, I have to pay taxes to the IRS while reciving disability income, is there another way to pay taxes without having to travel back to the U.S.?

Me an my fiance want to marry as soon as possible upon my arrival. We also are looking forward to getting a condo together.

You would have to address any immigrations in the Philippines, under Filipino law. We're a U.S. forum.

If you move to a new address, inside the U.S. or out, you would want the SSA to know your address so they can send your checks to you. International mailing often is problematic, so consider instead using direct deposit.

As for paying taxes, just like back home, you put your tax return in an envelope, stick on a stamp, and mail it to the IRS.
