I am in a difficult situation filled with rage for my ex-employer.
Need your expert advice if something can be done to make him comply with rules and regulations.
1. I joined a company X in last week of Sep'08.
2. From my first paycheck in First week of Oct'08, they deducted..(Medical 450$, dental $, vision $, Life $$)
3. On 13th Oct'08, I was terminated and within 3-4 days, I received letters from ex-emploer X, and payroll company ADP, statinig my current health coverage will continue till 31st Oct and I could choose cobra to continue.
4. On 17th Oct'08 , I visited a doc for my 2 kids (who also are covered with me) for some vaccination.
5. Today I received a bill for my kids from Insurance company asking 1953$ for services used.
WHen I called Insurance company, they told, my employer had terminated benefits on 14th Oct'08.
Is there some law to enforce them to pay my medical claim as per them it was to continue till 31st oct . Also in the month begining itself, I had paid medical 450$ from salary.
Please help, I am anyway living hand-to-mouth and cant afford to pay 1953$
