Default Overstayed J1 but Esta Travel Visa Approved

    Hi Everyone,

This is my story.......I came to USA on j1 work exchange visa for 18 months but left my program early as I did not like my employeer, My SEVIS records has me in the program March 2005 until January 2006. The thing is I did not leave straight waay after but stayed unil June 17th 2006 and then came back to France. I never got caught at the airport, I never got in any trouble and I even managed to claim back taxes to the sum of 1200 dollars before I left. Now I am planning on going to NYC in January and I put my details into the new ESTA website and I got the response "Travel Visa Authorized'

So does this mean I will get in no problem? I am Irish so I am from a visa waiver country and I have never overstayed on a 90 day visa so I can use the VWP, correct?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

I should add that I only stayed 133 days "out of status" so from what I read the 3 year ban should not apply to me as I left before 180 days.

    Thanks for any information,

    Mary
