Unhappy Marrying a Green Card Holder with Immigration Status

i am a senior in high school and an illegal alien. i came to this country with my mother when i was 9 years old involuntarily. we over stayed our visas which only gave us 6 months to be here. now i am about to graduate and my boyfriend ,who is a legal resident here with a green card, have decided to get married probably by the end of next year.
i'm clueless of what to do and my family doesn't help but i want to be a legal resident. and go to college.

what should i do to become a legal resident if i'm getting married with a gc holder? or is there a way i can do it by myself and also help my mother?

As long as you entered legally, and have the documents to prove it, you can adjust your status as the spouse of a legal permanant resident. (GC Holder).

It is not an easy or quick process, but it can be done. Below is a link to the website that gives the information on how to procede.

You will have to get married first Also, you will have to have someone file an affidavit of support, which requires that someone be financially responsible for you.

You would not be able to help your mother adjust her status until you become a US Citizen. An LPR is not eligible to sponsor a parent.

Note also that if you're not yet 18, you have not accrued any unlawful presence. That starts accruing once you turn 18.
