My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
A Staten Island Police Officer presented me with a summons for 240.02-2
Disorderly Conduct Violation, excessive noise. He stated to me that the he felt the exhaust in my vehicle was too loud.
I asked him if this was a criminal offense, he stated no, just a violation, it will be a $20.00 fine, but I would have to appear in court.
I looked up 240.02 on line and verified that the NYS Penal Code classifies this offense as a "violation"
Will this offense appear as a criminal violation in a background check?
Will this show up on my credit rating?
Basically, are their farther reaching consequences to this violation then meets the eye?
