My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: Virginia
Last night my cat was attacked and killed in my yard by my neighbors
(renters) whose dogs got loose (again) This was a violent and traumatic
death which my husband witnessed. This woman admitted to my husband
she may have left the fence unlatched, I called the police and animal control
and he came out (without a camera so I had to take the pictures of my dead
cat!!!) After leaving my house and taking my deceased cat with him he went to my neighbors to discuss the matter. He called later and explained since the
dogs are micro-chipped and up to date on their vaccinations they get to stay
with her. These dogs are dangerous, it's infuriating that they get a "free pass"
on this, I am not even sure if this will go to court. I would like to take her to small claims but I have no idea on what grounds, I know cats are consider
property and the dogs killed our cat so there were no vet bills. I just
want..er can't let this drop.
