    Default I'm 21, She's 16

My question involves criminal law for the state of: FLORIDA: I'm 21 and there's this girl that I really like. She's 16. Is this legal or can I get in trouble for this?

it appears you will escape any general statutory rape charges but there could be other statutes involved depending on what the situation is exactly and what, if any, sexual involvement you have with this girl.

She acts very mature and I'm very mature. I'm not looking just to have sexual intercourse with her either. I think if I sat down and talked with her parents they wouldn't mind.

so you are saying her parents do not even know about this?

You can claim she acts very mature but I do not see you acting very mature by chasing a little girl. She is in a totally different stage of life than you should be and as such, your interaction is not proper and should be removed from her life.

Oh, and intercourse is actually the least illegal action that the two of you may undertake. It is all that Bill Clinton proved is not sexual relations that will get you into legal trouble.

I see the potentiality of registering in the works here. At 21, you should have a job, car and life plans. At 16, she is still in school and playing with her girlfriends.

All of that can change in the matter of a few seconds.

Well I have been reading about this and I have found that as long as she is over 16 and I am under 24, that it is not illegeal. That is all I wanted to know. And we haven't even met yet. I was just checking for my knowledge so I knew.

Your wrong. There is a member of this site whose son is sittting in a FL jail (prison) with a 12 year sentence. He was 19! Look up Lewd acts under FL statutes. My advice stop the relationship TODAY!! Its not worth ruinning your life

FYI age of consent in FL is 18!! Even if it was 16 paretns can still legally forbid the realtionship. This trumps consent law. Parents can make the legal illegal. If parents are unaware of relationship even more cause to end it yesterday!!
