    Exclamation My Childhood Abuse

My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of:

Maybe you can help me out.
All my life I've dealt with the abuse of my older sister. We used to think she had high functioning autism but as she became older we're starting to wonder if maybe it could be something else.
So what used to happen was…
My parents would go out and have her babysit me as starting as a toddler they thought she would do okay since she could function more normally, and well whenever I would upset her she would either shout at me or hit me constantly until she tired out. I never really told my parents about this until I was much older since I was scared and she moved out.

    A couple of years later…
One week when she came home to visit she started out okay until I said the wrong thing to set her off. She punched me, really hard in the face, none stop until my nose almost broke. I tried to fight back but her adrenaline was very high. My mom had to break it up, this happened when I was about 14 and she was 22. So saying that I was a minor and she was an adult abusing me. She even started to get violent towards my mother and did hit her a few times and threaten her with a knife.

It was that same year when I brought my ex-boyfriend over that she really acted up that my mom, my ex, and I decided to leave and go to my fathers work place. She tried to keep us from leaving the house, by throwing a rock at the back window.

Well we eventually had her go down to Georgia to live with my aunt who would try to work with her and help her out.

Now I'm 20 and she's 26 We talk online but she gradually has gotten worse and worse. Just today I recieved what I consider to be a threatening email, and made wonder if she is bipolar or schizo...so what should I do about the child abuse.?

I want to report it but I don't know if I can or not. Please help me, thanks.

It's too late to try to report the past abuse. Even if you could, you'd possibly be getting your mother into trouble since she was aware of some of the abuse and did not take any action at the time.

You are now an adult, you are not under any legal (or moral) obligation to have any contact with your sister at all. You might want to seriously consider stopping all contact. You should change your e-mail and not converse at all. Then if she persists you could try to file for a protective order.

It seems to be obvious that you have some very bad feelings about her and the abuse, you really should try some counseling, it can't really hurt and can do wonders for you.
