Default Help With A Verbal Contract Dispute

Here's the deal i am from pennsylvania and i was goin to sell my car to my friend but the car's title is my dads name. The deal was for 700 dollars but the initial first payment was 400 and i said if you do decide not to take the car the initial payment is non refundable. I made the offer to him and he accepted. he gave me the 400 dollars and i gave him the key to the car(becuase he was my friend and noteing there was a problem wiht the car and he was going to try to fix it also noting he knew about the problem before we made this deal)

Now his dad is threating me to take me to court over this matter. I told his parents i gave him the money(but i didnt) becuase me and the kid had an agreement that, that is what i was goin to tell his father, but he was playing both sides he was telling me one thing and telling his father another thing...

So whats the deal can anyone help?

    If he's 21, he's a grown-up. So it's his problem to work out, not his father's.

    Default Claim for $400

If the 21-year-old takes you to court, the court will determine if the contract is enforceable. If it is, you should prevail; if it is not, you will probably be ordered to repay the $400 plus court costs.
