To make a long story short, I had a business that failed in 2000. I had great credit at the time and had taken out about $35,000 in unsecured credit card loans. These were opened in fall of 1999 and no activity on them since spring of 2000. Some of these have been written off, some have been transferred to collection agencys. One got a judgement against me(in 2002) and has a lien on my home should I every sell it. I am received calls from a lawyer stating that if I do not respond, he going to turn it over to my county for a judgement. My question is this? Isn't the SOL for credit card debt in SC something like 3 years. If so, is this person just trying to scare me or can he still get a judgement against me. Do I have to say the debt is not legal now because of the SOL.
Thanks for your response
