I bought a piece of property in North Carolina from a developer that contained a 50 foot easement that connects my existing house to one of the main roads of the development. The developer has since put in a drain pipe down the middle of the easement. Now that I want to use the easement and connect to the road in the developement, should I have to pay the cost of moving the large drain pipe over to allow for a driveway? Any comment on my general rights with this easement is welcome. My goal is to get along with the developer.
