    Default Vet Bill

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Va
I received a bill from my old vet a month ago on a bill that had been paid. So my husband called and they said it was for a cat that was neutured in 11/01 that they had forgot to bill me for two shots they did. MEanwhile a new vet has taken over the clinic i have not been there in 3 yrs. I also paid this bill the day of surgery. They said they where going through there records and found the shots had not been billed for. Can they ask for this know. What is the SOL on this debt and is this legal. This bill is 7years old as I said before I paid in full with cash as stated in my chart that day. The shots where added later no date to say when they where added and they did not bill before last month.Help

Do you have your receipt from when you paid? (Did they even give you one?)

Any paperwork at all associated with the original visit that indicates the bill was paid?

Most likely, the statute of limitations is five years. Virginia Code, Sec. 8.01-246(2).
