Post Accused Of Shoplifting In Washington State

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington State

earlier this month i was at target and was accused of stealing items because i was in a hurry to the restroom ( female prob that makes me have urgent quick trips to the restroom), and i was in a rush and had items with me and the LP guy grabbed me as i touched the bathroom door and pulled me into the office, and was accusing me of stealing, said i looked suspicious cuz i was hurrying, and that he was watching me on the video because i looked familiar to him like he knew me from somewhere, i had 3 dvds and 3 pairs of earrings with me.

he told me if i just admitted to stealing he wouldnt call the cops, i told him i wasnt gonna admit to something i wasnt doing, so he called the cops after he called a 2nd lp guy in there and a female worker, anyways one cop showed up, asked for my side of the story, i told it, he looked at the video then told me i could change my story if i wanted, i said no im telling the truth, and then he asked if i had a record i said no, and hes like well u will just get a fine/ticket in the mail like u would get if we pulled u over on the road, and the LP guy that grabbed me at the bathroom made me sign a target paper saying i wouldnt come to their target for 1 yr, and he took my picture, the cop didnt have me sign anything and didnt do a report there or anything, but told me if he decided to take me to the station and put me in jail and i was lieing about my female prob i would be in big trouble, i offered to show them in the bathroom *my prob* and they refused, he took my id to look at it, and wrote down my name and home addy, and the LP guy told the cop that they got all their items back and that nothing was taken and they estimated the cost at under 75.00

well the other day i got a letter from target and they want me to pay them 275.00 , there is no date on when it needs to be paid, and i was told by a volunteer at work who works for a law firm that i should write target, ask for a itemized list of what i supposedly stole and to ask for a copy of the paper i signed saying i wouldnt go to target for a yr because i was supposed to get a copy of it, and not to pay any of the 275.00 until i get a response or something from target about it.

now my question is, should i actually pay that, what is that for anyways? i have not received anything from the police department, and havent had any calls from them either. also i explained to them i wasnt stealing and explained the prob, etc, i dont have a record either, never done anything bad in my life before, and didnt have intentions to steal.

also will this go on my record? is there ways to get rid of it, will there be jail time etc?

the LP's and the female worker made me feel intimated and like i was a bad person, they were snickering and making fun of my female probs and me, and the LP wouldnt let me read the target paper i signed, just made me sign it. i was told too that he had no right to grab me like he did and that there were other ways he could of handled it, such as approaching me in the store, or waiting for me by the bathroom to say he saw me with stuff and to leave it outside til i was done, etc,

    any advice is greatly appreciated

The letter is Civil Demand its unrelated to your criminal case (which wil have its own fines) if you fail to pay the fine will rise triple maybe. If still not paid they can, if they choose sue you in court and win! Then your $200.00 fine coud be thousands once legal fees are added to inflated fine.

You removed the items from the sales floor without
paying for them, your lesson will teach you to put the
items down before using the facilities

and i was told by a volunteer at work who works for a law firm that i should write target, ask for a itemized list of what i supposedly stole
    Wrong

The cost the items is irrevalent when it comes to
the Civil Demand, be lucky is was $275 they could have
    asked for up to $500
