    Default Lending Friend Money

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Massachusetts

A friend of ine has borrowed 15,000$. he has paid back a total of 6,000, still owing me 9,000$. Him and I both have records of what is paid and not. If he decides to not pay me anymmore what can i do? On the contract, there is no specifics of when each payment is due. Just the amount he owed.

Beside the fact you should have had a lawyer read over a contract for an ammount of money so great, your kind of in a bind. All the contract says is he owes you $9,000 and it doesnt say by when. Basically, he could take 20 years to do so and you signed a contract that would allow it. You could take him to court over it, however, the judge will just order that he pays it and may or may not impose payment schedules. Regardless, you should have set those in the first place.

    Good luck
