Default Statutory Rape, Age of Consent and Emancipation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania

After looking online at a wide variety of sites to ensure the content was in fact legitimate, I still feel uneasy.

As I understand it, anyone over the age of 16 is over the age of consent. As such, someone who is older than them may in fact engage in sexual intercourse with them without committing a crime , right?

If that is the case and I need not worry, than don't bother with the rest.

The person is past the age of consent and is emancipated. I am older than them by less than seven years, to be anonymous lol I simply want to make sure that I am in the clear.

    Default Statutory Rape

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania

What is the current law regarding statutory rape in PA?

Is someone who is over the age of consent governed by any different laws than that of someone over the age of 18?

Look. It's wonderful and all that you keep referring to me to this thread as though I haven't read it. I HAVE read it. I am here looking for advice/seeking knowledge. As far as I'm aware, that IS the point of this forum, is it not?

So instead of closing every post I make, perhaps you might be so kind as to help me. Let's pretend I'm retarded. What are the age of consent laws exactly. Explain them to me please. It is a simple request and no, they are not explained exactly in those links(yes, I've been to them as well).

As far as I'm aware, this does not go against what you have stated already, and as such, I feel that people SHOULD in fact be allowed to better educate me, don't you?

    Can do!

In general, an age of consent law tells you how far apart in age, and what ages the participants can legally be. If you're outside of those bounds, it's considered statutory rape.

The link provided has enough information for you to look up your state's laws on the age of consent.

If you want to use a forum where people will tell you if it is or isn't legal to have sex with children, that's fine. But it will have to be a different forum.

Besides, why would you take a random stranger's word for what is or is not behavior that could land you with a criminal conviction and require that you register as a sex offender?
