Default Caught in Lord and Taylor, Had Merchandise from Other Stores

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Maryland

If I was caught shoplifting in Lord and Taylors and the amount taken was less than $500. They gave me a civil demand letter which they had me sign saying that they did not intend to press criminal charges and I agreed to pay them a certain amount. I had taken things from Nordstroms, Jcrew and Gap and the Loss Prevention officer said he would return the items to those stores. I signed nothing regarding those items. Do those stores have the ability to prosecute me? Is it likely that they will prosecute me? This is my first offense, and I have a clean record otherwise. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

You should be fine and other stores will likely be happy to get their stuff back. No one can say for certain but its pretty safe assumption you will avoid criminal prosecution

What city were you caught in? I know some Nordstrom/Gap (not sure about JCrew) stores prosecute depending on locality. Did you pay the civil demand on the spot? Also, was the merchandise damaged?

The stores do have the ability to prosecute even if they didn't see the crime.

The items from JCrew had security tags removed, but the rest of the items did not have any security tags. This was in the Annapolis Mall. I know that the Lord and Taylor items that had security tags removed were considered damaged because they cannot be sold without the security tags. I do not know the policies of the other stores. Is it likely that they will ask me for civil restitution as well? Is it likely that Lord and Taylor's loss prevention will share my information with the other stores? If I am not criminally prosecuted will this affect my permanent record in any way?
