My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington and Texas
My friend and I were caught shoplifting at Walmart in the state of Washington. We both had over &50 worth of merchandise. The cops were called and we were arrested although we didn't go to jail. We went to court and we both got Diversions for our crime. 10 hours cc, A Consumer Awareness Class, and $250 in fines. This happened about 1 month ago and I've got to keep my record clean for a year and it will go away.
Now me and my family are moving to Texas and my dad has to get criminal background checks on everyone in the house over 18, if we want to be able to rent the house we are looking at. I REALLY don't want him to find out I got arrested and I don't want our chances of getting the house screwed because of stupid mistake I made. Will this charge show up on the background check the relater will perform since there was no conviction?
