Default I Wasn't Mentioned in the Divorce

My question involves divorce in the State of: Mississppi

Hello and thank your for looking at my post.
I have a question about money for tuition. My parents just finalized their out of court divorce. I noticed that not even my name was mentioned in it. I am 18 years old and a Freshman at Clemson University. Both parents now refuse to pay for any of my tuition. They have told me good luck son on getting a loan. My parents are very wealthy and so I received zero money from the FAFSA. I was just curious if its legal to not mention your kid or even his welfare in the divorce papers.
    Thank you again.

Additional information: At first my parents tried to pin on the other to support me. They then came up with the agreement of not putting me in the divorce so they could keep more money for themselves.

Of course it is legal not to mention their ADULT child. Legally, that is exactly what you are. They aren't responsible for paying your tuition and have said per your post, good luck on getting a loan. They are also not legally responsible for your food, clothing, shelter or the like. Their financial situation is quite frankly none of your business.

FAFSA is not something that gives you money, its a determination of your ability to get aid. You still need to fill out these forms to get loans and it doesn't matter how much money your parents made, you should be able to get a loan based on the fact that your in school. If your parents are unable to help you out with next semester, you need to take your FAF results to the financial aid office at your school and get the forms to fill out for loans so you are able to continue next semester.

This statement alone makes me believe that your parents decision isn't based on anything but a need to fix you and your sense of entitlement. They have worked at least 18 yrs of YOUR life....why is it that you think you should have ANY say so in what they do with the money that they work for? Your 18...be self supportive and btw....welcome to the real world, hope you enjoy your stay.
