My question involves criminal law for the state of: South Carolina
My husband has an assault charge from 1999, in MD, he only had to service community service and that's been since 2004 (maybe earlier).
My husband is thinking of changing careers, but what he really desires to do is teach History to students (no matter their age). Does anyone know if he would be automatically dismissed from the application process for Horry County Schools or in general with SC?
His other career choice would be an EMT, what he went into the Army for but never received training due to an injury forcing him to be honorably discharged. The same question applies here. Will he be automatically turned down?
For both of these position he will need to go to continue his education but I would hate for him to send years getting a history degree and then a teaching certificate for a career he can't get into. By the time he finishes school it would be 15 years past. Is that enough time to be eligible?
Thanks for any help in advance!
