    Default Mislabeled sexual offenders

I have a friend that pleaded to charges more than 12 years ago. The charges included sexual offenses which he did not commit. And when it all happened 'back then' the exposure on the internet was not even happening. He has never had any legal problems since this one horrific problem (a family generated mess), never touched a child or forced his intensions on a woma. But each time he reads in the paper about another law going into effect, he becomes paranoid for his safety. He lives in California, which apparently has no statute that provides a limit as to how long he must register. And weekly there are more news articles which tell people how to look for the 'horrible invadors' in the neighborhood which 'threaten the safety of your children'. And to leave the state for another seems just as danting. I am helping him to find places in which to turn as he has become convinced that if he tries, he will be in violation of some restriction which exists. Please if there are any groups or legal avenues which can lend some information and or solutions, I would be very glad to hear from you.

Actually, PC 290 provides, in part:

290(a) (1) (A) Every person described in paragraph (2), for the
rest of his or her life while residing in California ... shall be required to register ...

If he is not currently on parole or probation, he is free to move around so long as he fulfills the requirements for registration in whatever state he resides.

    Default reregistered sex offender

Is there a listing some where of all the different laws by state? Are there any states which have a registration limitation? And do they start at time of residence or does the time start from date of offense? Thanks all to those that can provide information.

I tried the website you provided (sosen.org) but it came up with an error. Is there another way to check on this?

    Thanks!
