Default Parole Max Date vs. Restitution

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan.

I am beyond my actual parole discharge date, due to a large restitution, not being fully paid yet.
I am nearing my max discharge date.
Does the restitution need to be fully paid before I am released (discharged) or can my max date be extended?

Recently I heard that there was a change in the regulations here. It entails being beyond your normal discharge date and still owing restitution.
What I heard is that the restitution can be turned over for collection and then you could get a discharge.
Has anyone heard this and do you know how to go about this?
I got a blank look when I asked my PO.

If you reach the absolute maximum discharge date, such that your parole cannot be extended, you will be looking at either a parole violation or a discharge from probation. I can't tell you which, so talk to your lawyer and/or parole officer.

I have no idea what regulation you are talking about or where you heard about it. Share some details.

All I know is what I posted. I figure it is one of those Parole Fairy Tales.

    Thanks for your answer.
(Being Michigan is way over loaded with parolees, more than likely the discharge, but will take your advice and use it.)
