    Default Regaining Rights After Conviction

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Tennessee

I pleaded guilty to embezzlement 22 years ago and received 10 years probation in order to pay restitution. That was finished about 12 years ago.

I have had my voting rights restored. Now I would like to be able to carry a weapon since I work in the field of Property Management and would like to be able to have protection since I show vacant properties to unknown individuals.

How would I be able to accomplish this? I checked with a criminal attorney in my town and was told the conviction could not be expunged since it was a conviction. What else is there I can do?
