My question involves guardianship in the State of: tn
My husband voluntarily relinquished his parental rights to his biological daughter 7 years ago. Her step-father, then adopted her and her last name was changed on her birth certificate. My husband was behind on his childsupport and his ex-wife used that as a way to persuade his decision. She agreed not to pursue "jail time" for him being behind in exchange for him to give up his rights. I have read in some cases that the law requires counseling regarding this entire process and its consequences for any parent who is considering giving up their rights. My husband was not offered or notified of any such counseling and regrets his decision very much so. Is there any way that my husband could regain ANY type of rights to his biological child???
