My question involves a roommate in the State of: Georgia
Me and my roommate are cosigned on the lease and have been living together since april, when we moved in so did her jobless boyfriend. since he was jobless i didn't request he help pay rent. well around late july early august the light bill and cable bill somehow stacked up on us. the cable bill was around 300 and the lights five. at this time her boyfriend has a job but i'm still paying half the rent for the house even though all three of us works i didn't request it be split between the three of us.
So that month i paid the cable bill off in full and put 200 down on the lights so they would not be cut off i asked her for at least 200 since i went ahead and paid a bulk of it off. she said she didn't have it??? why i don't know. now our light bill is 700 hundred something and the cable bill is back to 300. she had told me her boyfriend would pay the cable bill for the month of sept. which i found out he didn't and now it has stacked again.
to solve the lights problem i asked for eveyone (all three) of us to give up 250 on the next payday and our rent will just have to be late and we pay the late fee she agreed orally to do that. come to payday she only gives me 150 for the both of them and i am like what the hell the minumum to keep the lights on is about 350-400 i can't pay that by myself.
she then made promises to give me more money but has not since. yet it's time to get paid again and this time we pay the rent which i think was late for no reason because the original reason it was going to be late for was never acommplished. so my question is if i go to a smalls claims court to sue her what type of information should i have and what documents should i have to present my case really well?? I want her to help me pay my long overdue bills so i can get gone.![]()
