Default Research Results Property and Use

I recently completed a research project for a large corporation that i am independent of, but they have yet (after 7 months) to decide whether to act on the information and go ahead with the project. I have other prospects that this information would be valuable to use with. Can i pursue copyright of the findings and processes described in the research?

    Default Copyright

Technically speaking, a copyright exists from the time your ideas are expressed in a fixed medium (including a computer file). The question thus appears to be "who owns the copyright"?

What does your contract or agreement with this company say in relation to the preliminary work you performed?
