I am a US citizen and I've applied for fiance visa for my fiance. We ARE engaged but cannot set a wedding date until visa is approved. I sent in appropriate paperwork as they requested; however, the two (2) yr time frame they requested was 48 hrs shy of when he arrived here. His work has kept him in Australia all this time, but we became acquainted 5 yrs ago as I was in Australia for 8 months with him. He has been to the USA numerous times living at my residence with my son and I. We had a 2 yr break where his work made it impossible for him to travel here but we kept in constant touch via emails. We have shared residences, bank accounts and purchased property together in this period. We were notified just today of being denied as we did not meet the time frame. Says we cannot prove we are bone fide....after 5 years!!!!???? What happens if we go ahead and marry? What can immigration do to us? He plans to travel back and forth when his work allows it anyway. When re-reading the letter, we find that to file an appeal is $385 but on the next page says to file the appeal form is $110...so we are at a loss. PLEASE HELP!!!
