Default Former Employer is Holding Personal Property

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Texas

My husband worked as a Manager in a night club in Texas. My husband quite but the owner will not let him have his personal property that he took to the club to do his job. My husband is visually impaired so he needed some special equipment for him to see better. He is working some where else and needs this equipment. Can an employer keep someone's personal things after they have quit?

Thank you in advance for any help i can get on this matter.

Default Re: Holding My Personal Property

What basis does the former employer assert for keeping the equipment? How long ago did your husband quit?
