    Post Embezzlement in Texas

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

It has been a few weeks since this person has admitted to taking over $30,000 from a school's PTA funds as Treasure for this PTA Board. This person admitted to this crime to the Principal of the school. The PTA members voted to file charges and the board has gone to the DA's office. It has been nearly one month and nothing has been done. What will happen to this person? Will she end up getting away with this crime? How much or little time will she serve?

If charges are authorized, the maximum penalty will depend upon the charge the prosecutor decides to authorize, any subsequent plea bargain, as well as such factors as the defendant's record in the community, any prior criminal record, and perhaps whether restitution has been made.
