Default Criminal Damaging or Endangering in Ohio

I was served papers at my parents residence. I have lived in a different state for more than 1 yr. I was in not able to attend the arraignment hearing, as a result I have a bench warrant in my home county in Ohio.

Is it legal procedure for the Sheriff to serve the summons to my parents address where do not live?

How long will the warrant be effective for the 2nd Deg. Misdemeanor?

If needed I will take the case to trial. What actions can I take to avoid paying the bond, $7500, or sitting in jail while the case makes it's way through the system?

    Thanks.

Until it is satisfied. The statute of limitations stopped when the warrant was issued.

I wouldn't count on bond. You appear to be a flight risk.

Assuming it is even offered, I would imagine that the bond amount will be considerably higher.

Judges never rescind thier own warrants.

    10% of $7,500.00 = $750.00. Get a bondsman if you don't have it.
