My question involves expungements or pardons for the state of: California
My only criminal record was one felony conviction for which paid restitution and community service as a part of a plea bargain. In March of this year, the conviction was expunged from my record.
Now I'm trying to adopt a child. I've already completed a LiveScan print check and there were no hits. However, I've been asked to complete a Criminal Record Statement as a standard part of the application process. The form does state that I am completing it under the penalty of perjury.
Do I need to disclose this expunged conviction and the details? And how about for job applications that ask if you've ever been convicted of a crime? How does one answer that?
Thanks for any direction you can provide.
