Default Switched Price Tags at a Store

My question involves criminal law for the state of: USA

So I went in to a store and switched two price tags in the dressing room, when I went to go check out the cashier said she had to price check the item. while waiting for someone to do the price check, I said you can hold these i have to get my wallet. She said ok, and I casually walked out and to my car. Do I have anything to worry about, they don't have my info (besides video), but I have been there before and used my credit card. Im sorry I did it and wont try it again. I'm very paranoid, that the cops will come after me.

I would be very leery of shopping in that store again for a good long while.

They have up to a year to press charges, and they could well detain you the next time you are in the store.

It's not a definite, of course, but it is a possibility.

The scenario goes like this: You show up at the store. They recognize you. The rest should be self-explanatory.

Even if you go back you'll probably "be fine", but you improve your odds by avoiding that store "for a good long while" and, obviously, by not doing anything similar in the future.
