    Post Marriage Fraud

I just married my partner and father of my two children after a six year relationship. Although he did not pressure me, I felt internal pressure to marry him against my will so that my children would not lose their father. The relationship has been emotionally and physically abusive. He has a CDV charge that was deferred based on a violent episode that occurred a little over a year ago. Did I commit marriage fraud by marrying him since I would not have married him otherwise had he been a US resident? I do not wish to be married to him, but saw no other way to prevent him from being forced to leave the country. Is this a valid marriage? We live in South Carolina.

Thank you for answering my questions.

If you don't wish to sponsor him, don't.

If you don't want to be married to him, file for divorce.
