Hi,
Ive been in the U.S. for 6 years. Five of those I spent here legally while in the process of acquiring an asylum. My mom applied for it when we first got here in 2002 and as I was underage she included me in her process and that's how I got for 5 years my social security card and work permit. My mom appealed twice to their answers of us "not qualifying" and finally her lawyer advised her not to keep trying because she was not going to get it and it was too expensive to keep appealing.
We got our final "NO" sometime in April of last year and since then have lived in fear of getting the deportation letter that we never got, still up to this day we havent received it and neither has our lawyer, although it shows online (that web site where you can see the status of your case) that we do have a deportation order. BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER YET
I have been with my fiancee for almost 3 years. We didnt marry before because I felt I was too young (im only 25 now).
He proposed two months ago and wants to get married but I am afraid that they will find suspicious that I marry after the deportation order and not because of my age.
I have been an outstanding residence of this country since I got here. I dont have as much as a parking ticket or have even jaywalked since I got here. I pay my taxes, (or did until I had to stop working because I have no work permit) I donate to different charities and all in all think that this country would be darn lucky to have me.
Is my marrying now going to be a problem?
Thank you!
